EXTREME reunion and new album
REJOIN FORCES FOR NEW ALBUM AND TOUR IN 2008
EXTREME are set to return in the spring of 2008 with their first album of all new material in 13 years. The band features original members NUNO BETTENCOURT (guitar), GARY CHERONE (vocals) and PAT BADGER (bass), along with new drummer KEVIN FIGUEIREDO.
In the coming weeks, EXTREME will announce their plans for a world tour in 2008 as well as a release date and label for the as yet untitled album, which is being produced by BETTENCOURT, who says: “It will have all the ingredients of an EXTREME record. The music is always Funkier than most rock bands—and born a Bipolar Bastard child of Mr. Zeppelin and Mrs. Beatles.”
The Grammy-nominated EXTREME have released four albums, plus two greatest hits sets—selling over 10 million records worldwide—and completed multiple world tours. They also achieved a #1 hit single, “More Than Words”—from their 1990 multi-platinum album Extreme II: Pornograffitti—on the Billboard Hot 100, which they followed with the Top Five “Hole Hearted.” Although these two acoustic hits brought the band great mainstream success, it overshadowed the band’s trademark sound: a mix of hard rock funk in the spirit and style of their predecessors Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Queen and Van Halen—fueled by BETTENCOURT’s signature guitar flights and CHERONE’s resonant vocals—and matched with a social consciousness in their lyrics. A career highlight came for EXTREME when Queen’s Brian May asked them to perform at the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert in 1992, which gave the band considerable credibility beyond the hard rock fraternity.
EXTREME have been introduced to a new generation of music fans who are connecting with the band through MySpace as a result of the inclusion of their song “Play With Me” on 2007’s “Guitar Hero” video game. Outside of EXTREME, CHERONE joined Van Halen as lead singer in 1998, co-writing the Van Halen III album and touring the world with them. BETTENCOURT joined up with Jane's Addiction front man Perry Farrell to form the band Satellite Party and co-produce their album Ultra Payloaded. Satellite Party also consisted of drummer KEVIN FIGUIEREDO, whom was previously in a band with BETTENCOURT called Dramagods.
Through the years, BETTENCOURT and CHERONE have remained close and continued to collaborate on occasion. But what exactly inspired them to rejoin forces as EXTREME?
“Rock and Roll Famine…I know it might sound crazy, but there is a massive shortage of rock and roll on this planet,” says BETTENCOURT. “It's almost extinct. I mean the true spirit of quality rock and roll—you know, Musicianship, when you would give up every moment of your day to master your instrument and create your own identity and sound so as to respectfully outdo all your past heroes whilst proudly wearing the badge of their influences.”
“Passion,” says BETTENCOURT, is what drives EXTREME. “To do whatever it takes, with integrity, to bring music to the people, not because of fame…but just cause you simply couldn't wait to share it with them.”
“We realized,” adds BETTENCOURT, “not only are the people starved for rock and roll...So are we. Let's eat.”
Look for the Boston-based group to perform Saturday, December 1 at the Boston Music Awards at the Orpheum Theatre.

Dear friends and fans,

DAVID ELLEFSON On Possible MEGADETH Reunion
The Rock 'n Roll Fantasy Camp Podcast sat down last week with former MEGADETH and current F5 bassist David Ellefson, who talked about his experience at camp, his current projects, how he got into and out of MEGADETH, and if he'd ever work with Dave Mustaine again.
On the topic of whether he will ever reunite with Mustaine and his former MEGADETH bandmates, Ellefson said, "Dave and I have met — about two years ago, it was. He had reached out to me and I gladly reciprocated and we met and we had dinner and buried the hatchets. There was a lot of legal unhinging with our business stuff together and that's, to some degree… He and I will always be in business sort of the way Lennon and McCartney are always in business because we have a… sort of like we raised some kids — we've got albums, we've got work, we've got our songs we composed together — there's all this stuff, and that's gonna be there. And it was nice for he and I to sit down and look each other in the eye and talk without having managers and attorneys and, you know, the entourage and stuff, around. It was nice, because, really, that's how he and I met — he and I met just face-to-face — and it was nice that we got to have a hook-up like that; I'm really happy about that. And I don't know if that means one day we'll ever be in a room with our guitars on again or if it'll just be, like, when we come into each other's town, we call each other and go out to Starbucks and hang out and get caught up about what's happening with the kids, you know what I mean?! [laughs] I don't know what that is. But I think rather than trying to force it, it needs to just sort of happen on its own time. I think any successful reunion that I've seen — whether it's MÖTLEY CRÜE or THE WHO or THE EAGLES, or whoever it is — it seems like the only successful ones happen because everybody… It's almost like enough time has to go by where you're willing to forgive, you're willing to let… it's, like, the time does heal the wounds, and you're able to sort of move past all of that stuff so that you can be in that place that I saw Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend being — which is with a real sort of gratitude and a real zeal for the rock and roll reason they got together in the first place."

Slash after Guns N Roses
After his departure from Guns N' Roses, Slash focused on his side-project, The Snakepit, playing a few tour dates before disbanding the group in 1998. Over the next decade, Slash would become an in-demand session guitarist, recording music with the likes of Alice Cooper, Sammy Hagar, Insane Clown Posse, Ronnie Wood, Bad Company, Cheap Trick, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, and Rod Stewart.
In 2001, he chose to regroup Slash's Snakepit to release his second solo effort, the aptly titled Ain't Life Grand. The album managed to do well on the charts, reaching platinum status. To promote it further, Slash embarked on an extensive world tour with AC/DC in the summer of 2000.
In 1990, Slash collaborated with Michael Jackson on his comeback album, Dangerous. He performed guitar on two hit singles, "Black Or White"(song intro) and "Give In to Me". He later appeared in the "Give In To Me" video with Jackson and performed on special occasions during the massive Dangerous World Tour. In 1995, he appeared on stage with Jackson for the MTV Music Video Awards. Slash also played guitar in "D.S.", a controversial song from the 1995 HIStory album. In 2001, Slash once again collaborated with Jackson, on the Invincible track "Privacy". Also in 2001, he joined Jackson on stage at the Michael Jackson: 30th Anniversary Special performing guitar for "Black Or White" and "Beat It".
In 1995, Quentin Tarantino asked Slash to contribute music to his famed adaptation of Jackie Brown. Several Snakepit compositions can be heard throughout the film. In 1996, Slash collaborated with Marta Sanchez to record the flamenco inspired "Obsession-Confession" for the Curdled soundtrack. The song was received well by Smooth Jazz radio stations. Later that year, Slash also played live with Alice Cooper at Sammy Hagar's club Cabo Wabo in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The show was recorded and released the following year as A Fistful of Alice.
In 1997, Slash (alongside the late Ol' Dirty Bastard and hit alternative rock band Fishbone) appeared on BLACKstreet's rock remix version of their hit single "Fix". In 2003, he participated in the Yardbirds' comeback record Birdland, released on the Favored Nations label. He played lead guitar in the track "Over, Under, Sideways, Down." In early 2003, Slash also made an appearance at a rally to protest the coming War in Iraq called "Peace on the Beach." Specifically, Slash performed the song "Imagine" by John Lennon. Ed Kowalczyk provided vocals during this performance.
In 2002, he reunited with Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum for a benefit/tribute concert for Randy Castillo. Realizing they still had the chemistry of their days in Guns N' Roses, they decided to form a new band together. The band that featured Slash, McKagan, and Sorum also featured former Buckcherry members Keith Nelson and Josh Todd. Later Duff put out a statement that Josh and Keith didn't quite fit with the band, and they added Dave Kushner as rhythm guitar and, after a long search, Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland. In 2006, Slash performed a guest spot on keyboardist Derek Sherinian's solo album Blood of the Snake covering the 1970 Mungo Jerry hit single "In the Summertime", also featuring Billy Idol on vocals. A video was also made featuring Slash, Billy, and Derek for this song.

In the early 90s Todd Duane and Lale Larson performed a series of highly popular and virtuoso gigs throughout Europe as well as recording several instrumentals together, including 'Schizoid' (featured on Guitar on the Edge No. 4) and 'Double Delight'. After years of planning the time was finally right for Todd and Lale, together with ace drummer Peter Wildoer (Darkane, Time Requiem) to combine forces and record a CD.
The recording Electric Cartoon Music From Hell sounds like nothing you have ever heard before. This trio plays a mixture of instrumental rock, fusion, thrash metal and jazz. But most of all, this album will remind you of all those old ´Looney Tune` cartoons you saw as a kid. Enjoy these 38 minutes of pure entertainment.

MR .BIG the last interview
Those are the last interview of MR.BIG afre the farewell tour. The biggest rock band in the planet in my opinion.Im very sad that they broke .I think that everyone has a great career today but we want the old days of MR.BIG tours ,albums .A great band with a great menbers .paul ,pat, eric, billy ,richie .THERE ARE my favorite band and my favourite musicians ever. And dodnt forget never shoot the moon .thank you guys for this kind of brilliant music .
Eric Martin a great career
Before his career in Mr. Big, he played in the rock group Kid Courage in San Francisco, California, and also the band Stark Raving Mad in Santa Rosa, California. With Walter (Herbie) Herbert (from Journey) and Sandy Einstein as managers the band 415 was formed in the late 1970s. 415 recorded one album under the name of The Eric Martin Band, entitled Sucker for a Pretty Face. The LP received a gold disc. "EMB" broke up in 1985, after which Martin recorded two solo albums, Eric Martin and I'm Only Fooling Myself.
In 1988, Martin, Billy Sheehan, Pat Torpey and Paul Gilbert formed Mr. Big, obtaining commercial success.
Eventually, Mr. Big went for a break, and 1998 saw the release of Martin's third solo album, Somewhere in the Middle, plus an accompanying tour with a new incarnation of the Eric Martin Band. After Mr. Big finally broke up in 2001, Martin pursued his solo career further, releasing another solo album I’m Goin’ Sane in 2002.
